The church should be a place where ALL are welcome and valued. Many times individuals with disabilities and their families do not feel that there is a place for them in church. We are ALL invited to the Lord’s table and nothing demonstrates God’s love more.
Many disability ministry programs begin organically by an increased need in their church, however, there are steps that can be taken to be intentional in beginning a specific disability ministry program.
Individuals with disabilities have unique needs that will need to be met in a disability ministry program. It is important that the volunteers be prepared to effectively support these individuals.
